When Creativity Overpowers "The Plan"

Photography and digital ideas are abundant in our cloud filled New Mexican skies.

It doesn't matter what gets you in action to capture a new photograph. Like Nike says, "Just Do It." I've had a plan for something entirely different from the image above. A sixth sense makes me zig when my logical self is telling me to zag.

Does that happen to you? You just can't force yourself to follow the outline because once it's all outlined where's the fun? It's too structured. My plan got me outdoors, but then I needed to let go and follow my instincts. Don't be too hard on yourself if your images don't look the way you imagined they would.

Grab those photographs and take a second look. See what your instincts were telling you. There is a way to take a selective look to find the image you subconsciously took.

Sign up for my digital photography tips and learn in my third e-mail how the image above evolved.

Dear Ruth,
Your creative energy and mastery of technique is very inspiring. I am moved to download my recent photos and do something experimental! In viewing these images, I was taken away from my present worried and am reminded of the great forces & beauty in nature. Your words about the storms helps me to look at life's turbulence in a more optimistice way. So, this was a great gift for me. I am smiling for you, miss you lots and the beautiful skies and imagees of New Mexico & yet here they are!
Thanks for contributing not only to my life, but the artworld as well.
With gratitude & love.
Donna

Sonja, Great to hear from you! Thanks for the cheers and good wishes. Let's go to an art opening soon. Warm wishes, Ruth

Donna, your reply gives me reason to continue. I had this 'set-idea' for my next move on my blog the tips I send to subscribers and just bounced around for a couple of days.

The jimson weed flower reminded me that we photograph light. It's all about the light; to have faith when we don't always see it. Thanks for being a true friend.
